One Week Until Professor Nick Talley Embarks On The Larapinta Trek for Doctors for the Environment.

Next week, Professor Nick Talley from the CRE will be walking the Larapinta trek to help raise much needed funds for Doctors for the Environment.

Since 2003, Doctors for the Environment Australia (DEA) has been at the forefront of advocating for health and the environment in Australia. The funds raised will support essential initiatives that protect biodiversity and preserve the fragile ecosystems that make Australia unique. In April 2024, a dedicated group of members and supporters of Doctors for the Environment Australia will embark on an inspiring charity trek along the iconic Larapinta Trail, in the majestic Red Centre of Australia. Their mission is not only to challenge themselves physically and mentally but also to raise crucial funds for advocating the protection of the environment, and its impact on human health. As the group ventures through the rugged terrain, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and ancient cultural heritage, their efforts will help safeguard our planet and foster a healthier future for all.

Professor Talley believes that global warming, pollution, unclean air and biodiversity loss are all serious threats to human health.
“I am therefore walking to support health and the environment. It’s going to be a tough trek! Thank you to all those who have contributed support – every dollar counts. Any contribution to my online fundraising is very welcome and will help me achieve my personal fundraising goal for a cause close to my heart”.
